This is a full time, 40+ hours a week position that will have evening and weekend expectations in order to fulfill ministry obligations.

Essential Responsibilities:
Ministerial:
- Assist the church to understand, embrace, and accomplish its mission to make disciples locally and globally thus achieving the church’s mission/vision, strategies, and goals.
- Share with the pastoral team in shepherding the whole congregation through: preaching/teaching, administering the ordinances, pastoral care, counseling, etc.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in planning and conducting congregational worship services.
- Fill the pulpit at least 3-5 times annually as requested by the Senior Pastor.
- Assist the Senior Pastor to implement training processes for future leaders.
- Serve as ex-officio member of all boards/committees unless otherwise stated by the bylaws.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Senior Pastor.
Students:
- Lead in the oversight and development of a year-round discipleship ministry to students (children – college) including activities such as retreats, Bible studies, service projects, mission trips, summer camps, children’s church, conferences, and so forth that will enhance spiritual growth.
- Encourage, train and provide resources for parents as they actively disciple their children.
- Enlist and equip student ministry leaders/volunteers with the necessary resources and training.
- Develop and support outreach to students on community school campuses.
- Provide training and opportunities for students to discover and develop their spiritual gifts, encouraging them to utilize these gifts in the church.
Mobilization:
- Develop, promote, execute a disciple-making strategy for our unique context aimed at reaching, training, sending gospel-centered disciples of Jesus Christ into the community and world.
- Develop online and media engagement – initiate assimilation process moving people from online viewership to in-person relationships.
- Facilitate community outreach events.
- Enlist, train, and provide resources for life group leaders as well as ensuring curriculum adheres to our statement of faith, mission/vision, and core values.
- Assist and coordinate with life group leaders and ministry directors ensuring all ministries are fulfilling their assigned mission and are aligned with the overall mission/vision of the church.
- Be the primary staff person to administrate volunteer screening and on-boarding for necessary ministries, ensuring volunteers are fully trained and prepared to provide a safe place for families.
Biblical Functions:
The responsibilities of the pastor may be outlined in terms of his primary biblical roles as follows:
- Elder/Overseer: a fellow contributor in the pastoral leadership team (cf. Acts 20:28; Philippians 1:1; I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; I Peter 5:1-4).
- Evangelist: models the practice of personal evangelism and ensures that the church is challenged and equipped to be obedient to the Great Commission (cf. II Timothy 4:2, 5; Matthew 28:19).
- Shepherd: models the heart of the Chief Shepherd and ensures that the church is well led, cared for, prayed for, protected and unified (cf. Acts 20:28; I Peter 5:1-4; II Peter 3:8; II Thess 1:11).
- Preacher/Teacher: communicates God’s Word in public worship and ensures that the church is growing to maturity in Christ (cf. Acts 6:4; Ephesians 4:11; II Timothy 4:1-4; Titus 1:9).
- Equipper: partners with other leaders to equip and empower maturing members for significant service and ministry by discovering, developing, and deploying their spiritual gifts (cf. Ephesians 4:11-16; II Timothy 2:2).
Ministry Requirements:
- The Associate Pastor of Students & Mobilization will be held to the qualifications of a biblical Elder as described in I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and I Peter 5:1-4.
- Demonstrated commitment to living as a disciple of Christ, transformed by His saving grace, and committed to God’s ongoing sanctifying work of grace in his life.
- Exhibit a positive attitude, healthy family relationships, and ability to set healthy boundaries.
- Self-starter, good at multi-tasking and prioritizing projects.
- Strong technology, organizational and administrative skill.
- Demonstrate a high level of trust, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal written communication skills.
