3rd Annual Global Missions Conference
September 15-19, 2021
Catawba's global missions focus has grown so much in recent years! We have increased our missions staff and become more strategic in our global impact with much of our global focus revolving around cross-cultural missions. Currently, four out of our five missions staff families, serve cross-culturally in different regions around the globe.
Beginning this year, we're diversifying our global approach and expanding our missions staff in two specific ways. First, we are beginning a new partnership with an indigenous missions network in the region of South Asia, through Partners International.
Secondly, we are taking active steps toward sending out our first missions staff member from our own church family! This is both an exciting opportunity and great responsibility!
Make plans to join us for Missions Conference September 15 to September 19. Our theme for the upcoming conference is Unreached but not Unreachable.
. . . I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else's foundation, but as it is written, “Those who have never been told of Him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.”

EXPANDING OUR IMPACT
Advancing God's Kingdom in the least reached places.
Partners International - Regional Director - Development
Robert’s professional career began as an attorney concentrating on commercial litigation and representing Christian ministries. After nine years of practicing law, Robert served for ten years as a Missions and Discipleship Pastor and six years as Senior Pastor. It was in this role Robert learned about PI. Over the years, he directed the church to invest strategically in PI ministries through prayer, encouragement and financial giving. Just prior to coming to Partners, Robert served in higher education. Robert is passionate about his role as Church Engagement Director. His goal is to serve local churches by helping them understand the incredible opportunity and personal responsibility they have to be strategically involved in reaching the least reached on this earth. Robert and his wife, Anne, have two grown children.
Morgan McClure is a lifelong member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church. She was saved at the age of five, then committed to following Christ to the nations at the age of thirteen. Since then, she has been in pursuit of Jesus and His love for the people of Islam, gearing her free time, college studies, and career toward reaching muslims with the gospel. She currently works as an education and refugee women’s specialist with a local resettlement agency and is taking steps to being a global worker. She thrives on being with people, reading good books, laughing a lot, experiencing new cultures, and sharing Jesus’ love through being his hands and feet.
OUR MISSION STAFF
Thursday evening we will hear updates from each of our mission staff families.
God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. - Hudson Taylor
See clearly the mission before us
The weekend will be saturated in the preaching, teaching, and singing of God's Word. We will be reminded of our mission mandate, bring awareness to the gospel need, and refresh our vision to global missions as a local church.
"Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest." John 4:35
Pray fervently for gospel advancement
In response to seeing the need, we will pray for the advancement of the gospel in our generation as well as intercede in prayer for our missions staff.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Luke 10:2
Give sacrificially to see the gospel change lives
Compassion does not merely see the need, but is moved in response through the giving of resources, time, and abilities entrusted to us. Giving to world missions is an eternal investment!
The apostle Paul reminded the church in Philippi it's "not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit" Philippians 4:17
Participate individually in God's mission
It might be going on a short-term mission team or maybe God is leading you on a long-term assignment to the foreign field? Regardless of the location, as a follower of Christ, God is calling you to active participation in furthering His mission "both here and around the world."
"And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
Love generously on our missions staff
We consider our global missions family a part of our staff on international assignment. At Catawba Valley, we believe that the work of world missions is the responsibility of the local church. Our commitment is evidenced by our ongoing partnership of prayer, encouragement and financial support.
"I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God." Philippians 4:18
