Our Leadership Team
Aaron and his wife Jessica came to Catawba Valley in June of 2013. Aaron had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home, and trusted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. During his freshman year of college the Lord called him into vocational ministry.
In December of 2011, he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities with a concentration in Bible from Bob Jones University. In December of 2018, he completed a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Music with a proficiency in Voice Performance from Bob Jones University (2013). Both Aaron and Jessica are gifted musicians.
Prior to accepting God’s call to join the pastoral team at Catawba Valley in 2013, Aaron served as the Director of Training and Leadership Development for two Chick-fil-A units in Chattanooga, TN. Over the years, Aaron has been given the opportunity to serve multiple summers as Christian camp counselor, completed a summer Internship with Riverside Bible Church in Elkhart, IN, served as a summer children's ministry director, music leader, summer VBS director, Chaplain of Sigma Alpha Chi Literary Society, as well as served a month in Australia with a local missionary family. Pastor Aaron’s commitment is to teach the whole Word of God. His passion for people and his desire to reach people for Christ are evident in the way he communicates Biblical truth.
Associate Pastor of Student Ministries
Stephen, and his wife Emily joined the ministry of Catawba Valley in July of 2016. Stephen orchestrates our Student (children-youth), administration, and media ministries. He grew up in a ministry family, and spent the first eighteen years of his life in Goodview, VA. He always struggled with his salvation growing up, but in May of 2008 he received assurance of his salvation. Later in high school he surrendered his life to serve the Lord in vocational Christian ministry. Stephen’s father (Harold Vaughan) is an evangelist and head of Christ Life Ministries. Stephen’s ministry experience started at an early age, and during high school he was given many opportunities including speaking, youth and children's work, and conference administration. After High school the Lord led him to attend West Coast Baptist College.
Stephen and Emily met and became friends during their freshman year of college. Later that year they began dating. Because of financial reasons Emily returned home after her freshman year, and continued her education online through Penn Foster College. Stephen received his Bachelors of Religious Education in Bible and Missions in May of 2015 from West Coast Baptist College. Since then he has completed a Youth and Pastoral Internship at Colonial Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, VA. After three years of dating and engagement Stephen and Emily were married December 5, 2015. After relocating Emily and settling into married life; the Lord has led them to pursue His will for them to serve in the local church.
