What is Great Commission Giving?
Great Commission Giving is a special offering, above your regular, systematic giving to support worldwide missions. Through Great Commission Giving we are able to provide financial support to our missions staff and ministry partners in the Roanoke Valley, Southwest Virginia, nationally, and around the world.
Our growing missions family is evidence of our conviction and commitment to the great commission given by Christ to His church. Our conviction is that every individual has a part to play in these efforts. That's what makes Great Commission Giving so special, because it's a way for every individual to be involved in missions here at Catawba Valley.
The apostle Paul reminded the church in Philippi "it's not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit" (Phil 4:17). Giving to missions is an eternal investment!
Great Commission Giving supplies a major portion of our missions fund, which provides the funding for all of CVBC mission endeavors locally, regionally, and globally. Based upon the cumulative amounts of these funds, the church makes commitments to its mission endeavors for the forthcoming year.

Is Great Commission Giving a pledge to the church?
No. It is commitment between you and the Lord; and as such, you will not be asked for your financial contribution. After voluntarily and privately settling the amount with the Lord, the giver indicates the amount to the church by submitting a Great Commission Giving Card.
How are missions staff and ministry partners selected?
Our Missions Committee administers the process for selecting missions staff and ministry partners. The Missions Committee plans, implements, and evaluates the mission endeavors of the church, as well as reviews and evaluates requests for missions support. The Missions Committee notifies the church of the annual line-item designations.
How do I get started?
Determine through prayer the amount you believe the Lord wants to provide through you! Then, submit a Great Commission Giving Card during any offering collection. Annually, Great Commission Giving cards are tallied at the end of our annual missions conference. Based upon the cumulative results of this offering, the church will make commitments to its mission endeavors for the forthcoming year. Please make sure your offering is clearly marked "Great Commission Giving"
