Mark 11:1-11 | The Triumphal Entry
1 Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples 2 and said to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. 3 If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.’” 4 And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. 5 And some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” 6 And they told them what Jesus had said, and they let them go. 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. 8 And many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. 9 And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! 10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!”
11 And he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. And when he had looked around at everything,
as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

Reflect
Hosanna means "Save us now!" Have you cried "hosanna" with your heart to Christ, asking for the salvation that only comes from Him? Is there specific things in your life that you need to be saved from?

Worship through praying
Commune with the Lord in prayer
Read the prayer below and reflect upon some specific things in your life that you may . . .
confess to God, adore God for, thank God for, and ask God for.
confess to God, adore God for, thank God for, and ask God for.
O Gracious King, You came to earth to save us from our sin and sorrow. You humbled Yourself for our redemption. Thank You for your kindness and grace shown in giving Yourself as the ultimate sacrifice. Over and over again You could have abandoned us to the hell that we deserve, but Your love knows no end or bounds. Give us the eyes to see the love You have shown, and how we can make that love known to others. You alone are the King of our hearts! Give us wisdom to follow Your commandments and serve You with all we have. Above all You reign forever! Hosanna to the King on His throne! So often we fixate on earthly things, and the troubles of this world. Forgive us our feeble hearts. Keep our focus on the heavenly home You have prepared for us. Our citizenship is in heaven, and we are the chosen people of the Everlasting King! The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His sovereignty rules over all! Amen!
Now spend time before the Lord, praying to Him and praying with one another.
Pray for Our Missions Staff
THE FRADY FAMILY
Our missionaries around the globe are facing the fallout of the coronavirus outbreak, and their ministry plans have been greatly affected by lockdowns, quarantines, and health precautions. Here is an update from Wendy Frady:
"You may wonder, what is life like in Uganda, as far as COVID-19 is concerned? How does it affect our daily lives right now? Currently, there are 33 cases of the virus in Uganda, with a population in the country of approximately 43 million people. First thing the President did was shut down all schools and churches for 1 month. Next, all public transportation was banned by the President, including all taxis and boda bodas (motorcycle taxis), which was a HUGE deal here due to the fact of the majority of Ugandans use public transport. Majority of people here now have no work, as restaurants, stores, malls, etc, are all closed and without work, this means no money. With no money, this means no food. Many Ugandans live from day to day, earning today what they will use to feed their families. Many of our people are living in fear, wondering how they are going to survive."
Praises:
-Baby Alistair and Wendy were able to come home from Johannesburg, South Africa just a few weeks before the COVID-19 lockdowns took place. Alistair is healthy and thriving, and the family is all together!
-The quarantine has given the family new opportunities for spiritual growth as a family.
-Henry, their oldest son, is experiencing tremendous spiritual growth since making the decision to follow Christ last October.
Here are some ways to pray for the Fradys as they navigate life and ministry on lockdown:
-Wendy is now homeschooling the two oldest boys. Pray for them as they continue to learn in their new routine.
-Pray for the family as they figure out creative ways to minister to their community under the new restrictions.
-Pray for the many Ugandans who are now out of work due to business closures.
-Pray for the country as a whole as it faces the economic fallout from the coronavirus.

Worship through music
Let's worship the Lord together through music
Use the Youtube links below to enter into a time of praising our great God. Pay attention to the words of the songs, and let them become the meditation of your heart today. Feel free to spend as much time in worship as God's Spirit leads you and your family.
Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.
For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord. Psalm 117:1-2 (NIV)
Worship through
listening to the proclamation of God's Word
Let's worship the Lord together by listening to the proclamation of God's Word
Please open your Bible to John 12, and listen to Pastor Aaron Mansfield as he shares a message entitled: "Welcoming a King."
Let's conclude our time of worship together by listening and meditating to the truths of this song, the deep love of God for us!
Worship through giving
Let's worship the Lord together through giving
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:8-9 (ESV)
Continue to remain faithful in your giving unto the LORD by supporting the ongoing ministry of CVBC and our Missions Staff serving around the globe. Giving options include: online giving, text-to-give, or mailing in contributions.
Why We Give? Catawba Valley is committed to modeling the spirit of giving, demonstrated by God himself. The Scriptures teach, that "every good and perfect gift" comes to us from God's sovereign hands (James 1:17). Because of His great love for us, He gave the ultimate gift of eternal life through the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son. So ultimately, we give in response to all Jesus has given to us (2 Corinthians 8:9).
In Scripture, we discover the principle of first fruits, which involves giving back to the Lord a portion of all He has given to us. We are stewards, not owners, of what God has entrusted to us. Therefore, the principle of first fruits involves giving back to God what is His and faithfully stewarding the remainder appropriately. When we give our first and best back to God, He promises to bless the rest. We believe that the experience of giving our resources back to the Lord is an act of worship. Faithful giving is a tangible reflection of a heart that celebrates what God is doing in your family, in our congregation, in our community, and around the world.
So as we give unto the Lord, we express our partnership in the gospel to advance His kingdom "both here and around the world"
