The Resurrection | Mark 16:1-8 (ESV)
16 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” 4 And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. 6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” 8 And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Jesus has claimed all authority on earth and in heaven as Savior and as Lord! He himself has purchased our redemption, and now we are free to live in His victory and life forever. Let this good news sink deep into your heart, let it become the heartbeat of your life, and let it be the story you long to tell others, so that they can know this life as well.

Praise
...knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. 1 Peter 1:18-21 (ESV)
Worship through praying
Commune with the Lord in prayer
Read the prayer below and reflect upon some specific things in your life that you may . . .
confess to God, adore God for, thank God for, and ask God for.
confess to God, adore God for, thank God for, and ask God for.
Our wonderful Savior, Jesus, we stand in awe of your life, death, and resurrection. We praise you, faithful Son of God, who endured suffering, shame, and rejection in order to purchase our redemption. The depth of your love is too great for us to comprehend. We are overwhelmed by the grace and mercy that you have poured out on us by taking our place and paying the debt we never could. Oh God, we thank you for your promise to save us, and your promised fulfilled to the obedient sacrifice of your Son. Lord, we only have our lives to offer you in grateful response to your gift of salvation. Help us, God, to follow you with joy, with faith, and in obedience to the leading of your Holy Spirit. Fill our hearts with passion for sharing the gospel, the good news that Christ has redeemed us from our sin. Break our hearts for those who do not yet know you as Redeemer. May we live as light to the world, beacons of hope guiding the lost to your truth. We love you God. It is in the name of Jesus Christ that we pray and believe, amen.
Now spend time before the Lord, praying to Him and praying with one another.

THE HOUSER FAMILY
Our missionaries around the globe are facing the fallout of the coronavirus outbreak, and their ministry plans have been greatly affected by lockdowns, quarantines, and health precautions. Carl & Charmaine Houser are nearing the end of their deputation, and shared some ministry updates in their latest newsletter:
"What’s going on Stateside...
We wanted to say thank you so much to the many pastors, pastors’ wives, and praying friends who have reached out to see if we’re well. We are glad to report that the Lord is very well taking care of us, and we are presently back at our home base in OH since the majority of our immediate meetings have been cancelled. Meanwhile, we praise God for 84% support and look forward to how He will provide the rest as He sees fit.
We are doing our best to secure meetings still, and use those still “booked” for live stream opportunities etc, and are praying God would continue to help us and give us wisdom at this time. One positive of being back home is that we are able to start working on packing down our house for our upcoming move (DV). This also gives time to work on Carl’s visa application, and though the government are not currently accepting them, we’re grateful for time to try and make things as ready as possible. Whilst many are fearful and uncertain at this time, we are rejoicing that God has a plan in all of this, that He is still at work, and that the Gospel is still the power of God unto salvation!
What’s going on in the UK…
With full quarantine orders in England, the team has been working hard to produce online materials for Sunday and Wednesday meetings, daily church updates, and the “Pioneer Bible Club” which is put on for children four times a week! Each member is working hard individually on Bible lessons, songs, memory verses and object lessons to make up each 30 minute video. It has been so wonderful to hear of many children watching and participating, sending in colouring sheets and also doing the Scripture readings for the videos. What a great opportunity to advance the Gospel in this time, and for children to know they can trust God!
Please pray with us…
In Christ, Carl & Charmaine Houser

Please pray with us…
- That we’d be sensitive to Gospel opportunities God presents, and for the salvation of those who hear
- For the work taking place in England, and that many watching services and the Pioneer Bible Club would be gloriously saved!
- That the Lord would bring us to 100% support in His timing
- That Carl’s visa application would be smooth, speedy and successful when submitted
- That we would follow the Lord's timing concerning our leave date

Watch the video below and use this as a time to reflect on the great victory that Christ has achieved! He has overcome sin, death, and the grave, and He bestows this righteousness on you.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)

Worship through giving
Let's worship the Lord together through giving
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:8-9 (ESV)
Why We Give? Catawba Valley is committed to modeling the spirit of giving, demonstrated by God himself. The Scriptures teach, that "every good and perfect gift" comes to us from God's sovereign hands (James 1:17). Because of His great love for us, He gave the ultimate gift of eternal life through the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son. So ultimately, we give in response to all Jesus has given to us (2 Corinthians 8:9).
In Scripture, we discover the principle of first fruits, which involves giving back to the Lord a portion of all He has given to us. We are stewards, not owners, of what God has entrusted to us. Therefore, the principle of first fruits involves giving back to God what is His and faithfully stewarding the remainder appropriately. When we give our first and best back to God, He promises to bless the rest. We believe that the experience of giving our resources back to the Lord is an act of worship. Faithful giving is a tangible reflection of a heart that celebrates what God is doing in your family, in our congregation, in our community, and around the world.
So as we give unto the Lord, we express our partnership in the gospel to advance His kingdom "both here and around the world"

8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:8-11 (ESV)
